No more feeding the animals in the dark. No more scrounging for dog food with a headlamp. No more calling in the horses and listening to the thuds of pounding hooves in the pitch blackness, hoping their eyesight is better than mine beneath a moonless sky. No more checking the level of rabbit feed through sense of touch.
Our barn now sports hanging lights, wall switches, stall lighting and electrical outlets. Yeah!
Of course, this also signifies I can no longer claim the excuse, "Hey, it's getting dark ..." as my reason for disappearing into the house.
