My husband ate it with positive comments, but the rest of us simply stared at our bowls after swallowing the first few bites. Fortunately we did not go hungry as the main part of the meal was a vegetable pork stir fry.
Perhaps the recipe carried the blame for this culinary shortfall as, for me, the soup tasted like a bowlful of warm dill pickle juice with a swirl of sour cream. Hmmm.
Although some recipes call for tarragon as a spice, I selected an internet offering that utilized dill - readily available in my garden. Yikes.
And I have at least a gallon left over ... frozen ... waiting for a convenient (and taste-masked) use.
