This is the hillside, crowded with scrub trees, vines, and poison ivy, directly behind our house. The hillside forms a semicircle behind the pool deck (now a garden deck - have I mentioned this before?).
We desire more garden space and instead of simply selecting a piece of flat ground and bringing in the rototiller, we (or perhaps I should admit "I") preferred the gargantuan task of clearing this hillside for a series of terraced garden beds. Past photos of squash plants, pea vine trellises, and hillside plantings reveal one section of this goal already completed on the far side of hill.
Over the past couple of weeks, despite temps in the 90s with high humidity, we have continued this project and today I began weaving wattle fencing for hillside beds.
At the top of the hill, barely-through-the-ground seedlings are visible (rape and purple top turnips).
I'll post a photo of the finished (well, admittedly as much as we are finishing at the moment) hillside tomorrow or the day following.
