What’s my job?

I am a Great Pyrenees,

and I have one of the most important jobs at Dry Hollow Farm.

Can you look at these farm photographs and guess what it is?

PROTECTION!

We belong to the group of dogs called LGD, or Livestock Guarding Dogs.

Can you name a predator that might be a danger for sheep and goats?

Our job is to protect our livestock friends and our humans!

Where do we live?

We live in the pasture with our sheep and goat friends. We are most active at night.

And we love the snow!

Did you know ….? Great Pyrenees dogs have double dewclaws on their hind legs which help them with stability in the deep snows of the Pyrenees Mountains.
