Valerian was used by the ancient Greeks and Romans as a medicine, and has traditionally been used to treat insomnia, headaches, and cramps. Both the root and leaves of valerian can be consumed. This listing is for dried valerian leaves.

We recommend consuming valerian as a tea. Brew 2-3 grams in boiling water and allow to steep for 10-15 minutes.*

Our herbal teas ship in a muslin drawstring pouch and weigh .5 ounces.

*Please note that you should avoid valerian if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Do not combine with blood thinners, relaxing or sedative medications, and do not use when operating machinery or driving. It is recommended that you inform and consult your doctor if using valerian for longer than a month.
